Student work at home: • Complete English homework booklet – Paper No: 2020b • Textbook ‘Spelling & Vocabulary Level 1’ – pages 10 – 11 (classwork) & page 12 (homework) • Read every night – complete reading record sheet. • Continue your personal vocabulary list – use a dictionary to look up unfamiliar words from the homework booklets and your personal reading. Record the definitions in your English notebook.

Y2 English 2020b – 2024 Week 22 Notes 4 Read this (page 2) Autumn is a time of change March, April and May. In June, July and August You can expect a Winter’s Day! Springtime blossoms in September, Also October and November. The summer heat begins to sizzle In the exciting month – December! 1. Raise a discussion on the different seasons. Potential questions include: “What are the four seasons? What activities do we do in each season? What holidays are there? What experience do you have during a particular season? 2. Explain that the seasons reflect how solar energy is distributed to the Earth based on its axis of rotation as well as its shape. 3. Tell your students that it is important to have seasons as a way of letting life be possible on Earth. 4. Select student to answer what the Summer months are: December, January, February. 5. Select student to answer what the Winter months are: June, July, August. 6. Select student to answer what the Spring months are: September, October, November. 7. Select student to answer what the Autumn months are: March, April, May. 8. Explain that in different parts of the world, people experience different weather in the same season. 9. Ask your students if they like warm, cool, or rainy weather. 10. Ask your students to describe the weather for each season in your area. 11. Tell your students to think about events that happen during certain seasons. For example, in the summer they have summer break, and in the winter, they have winter break. 12. Ask students to recount aloud some of their experiences during certain seasons. Ask them to share which experience was affected by the season. For example, students would not be swimming at the beach with their family in the winter.
