Unit 1 1.6. Basic Principles of Hydraulics – Pascal’s Law and its application in machines, Hydraulic press
Basic Principles of Hydraulics • Hydraulics is a mechanical function that operates through the force of liquid pressure. In hydraulics-based systems, mechanical movement is produced by pumped liquid, typically through cylinders moving pistons. • Hydraulics is a component mechatronics, which combines mechanical, electronics and software engineering in the designing and manufacturing of products and processes.
Basic Principles of Hydraulics • This kind of enclosed fluid based systems using pressurized incompressible liquids as transmission media are called as hydraulic systems. • The hydraulic system works on the principle of Pascal’s law which says that the pressure in an enclosed fluid is uniform in all the directions.
