MESSAGE FROM THE POGS PRESIDENT PHILIPPINE OBSTETRICAL AND GYNECOLOGICAL SOCIETY (Foundation), INC. The POGS Committee on Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) Task Force on Obstetric Hemorrhage this year found the need to update the clinical practice guideline on Obstetric hemorrhage, it has been five years since the last edition. Such a very important topic in Obstetrics, though remaining to be a persistent complication warrants regular updating because such developments may be life-saving. The previous edition covers postpartum hemorrhage and third trimester bleeding. With the new second edition, there are additional topics that covers obstetric hemorrhages beyond the third trimester and postpartum bleeding. Included are first trimester hemorrhage and more specific postpartum cause of bleeding. Another new in this edition is that in the gathering of evidence and recommendation, the task force used GRADEPRO to further improve on the guideline. It is the intention of POGS particularly the task force to be comprehensive and very relevant to the current practice. My congratulations to the Task force on Obstetric Hemorrhage for their dedication to deliver a very worthy guide. It is our hope that obstetrician gynecologist will use the current knowledge and recommendations forthe care of the women and may it be an instrument to lessen morbidity and even save lives. MARIO A. BERNARDINO, MD President, 2019 Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (Foundation), Inc.
