B1: On my birthday I often prepare a good meal and invite some close friends to my house for a small party with my family. What is your favorite family celebration? Why? My favourite family celebration is Tet holiday because I can relax and meet my friends, relatives and I spend time with my family. B2: Public transportation What is the best way to travel in your town/city? The best way to travel in my city is motorbike because it’s convenient and fast. I think people should use public transportation more because it is cheap, convenient and safe. Part 2: you have just received a sum of money from your father as a birthday present. 3 Examinations are necessary to check students’ understanding and ability. However, in fact, examinations cost a lot of money, take time, and unfair. For example, every year, the government spends a big amount of money for the university entrance exam, it also takes a month to score and still have many problems. Further questions: 1. In my opinion, schools are necessary because schools are the place where students can get knowledge and learn a lot of skills like communication skills, soft skills, problem- solving skill. 2. How do modern technologies change the way people study? Modern technology helps people to study faster, more actively and more effectively. Do you think that traditional schools will disappear in the future because of the development of modern technology? No, I don’t. Yes, I do because music helps me relax after work. What is the most popular kind of music in your country? I like traditional music because it helps me relax and feel so proud of my country. How is music good or not good for people? I think music is good for people because music helps us to reduce stress and helps us to cheer up and change my moods. English Did you learn English at secondary school? C1: No, I did not. When I was at secondary school, I studied Russian. C2: I am keen on learning English very much and I started learning E when I was at secondary school. What do you think about how English is taught at school now? I think English at school is taught based on traditional grammar method which is boring and it is one of the reasons why our students are not interested in learning English. In what ways has children much improved nowadays?

Which do you think is the best option for secondary students? - Photograph - Swimming - Dancing I think I will choose a swimming class because it will help students keep fit, and become active in real life. I donot think photograph is necessary because not every student can buy a camera and dancing is a boring subject to them. Part 3: I think language is an element of culture. Firstly, language is the best mean of culture. The culture can be shown by the way people talk and listen to others. When communicating with each other and learning about the culture is the most effective way people use to communicate and understand about other countries. If there is no language and culture, people can’t understand anything about the world that we called culture shocks. Further questions: Do you think it’s good to understand other people’s cultures? I think it is good to understand other people’s cultures because this is the only way to make sure that you do not misunderstand what other people say and sometimes, it leads to some serious problems of lacking respect. What would you introduce first to a foreigner about Vietnamese cultures? If I meet a foreigner, I would introduce him/her about the way to welcome somebody in Vietnamese culture. We often greet other people with a smile or some words asking about health, jobs, and families, for men, they often greet each other by shaking hands. What would you like to learn about English –speaking cultures I like the way people live independently and work hard and the way men behave politely with women, they often open the door are the last to go into the room.
