Supernova Fund The Supernova Fund supports groups that are raising awareness and shifting public conversations to promote gender justice (women and LGBTIQ+ rights) by creating and sharing stories, tools, and strategies through arts, media, and technology. The fund is designed for initiatives that focus on telling powerful stories to bring attention to gender justice issues, countering anti-gender actors, and catalyzing action. This work can include a range of initiatives, such as fiction and non-fiction films, impact campaigns, social media storytelling, podcasts, performances, advising and training people in the entertainment industry or the media to recognize and challenge harmful narratives about reproductive rights, women’s rights, and LGBTQ+ rights, and developing and disseminating stories that promote fairness, dignity, and equality for all, among others. Supernova Fund: Who can apply? ● Organizations, groups, networks, and individuals working on narrative change for gender justice, reproductive justice rights, and LGBTQI+ rights through media, arts, culture, and tech approaches ● Initiatives focused on the creation and deployment of impactful narrative change strategies to increase the visibility of gender justice, in arts, media, culture and tech about gender justice, reproductive rights, and LGBTQI+ issues ● Projects that have a clear strategy for reaching, engaging and/ or activating with the key audiences to counter anti-gender actors and advance gender justice. ● Media, culture, arts, and tech efforts create world-building narratives that affirm shared values for a democratic and gender-just world. ● Initiatives that focus on strengthening the infrastructure for narrative change for gender justice in media, art, culture, and tech ● Priority will be given to narrative change initiatives based in Global South and East countries 1 , those led by historically oppressed groups, and those currently most under threat by anti-gender actors ● Nebula Fund does not provide financial support to other donor institutions or organizations implementing sub-granting initiatives 1 Nebula Fund will prioritize funding in the following regions: West, East, Central and Southern Africa; North Africa and Southwest Asia; Latin America and the Caribbean, South; South East, East Asia and the Pacific; Central, Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central and North Asia. Organizations The organization from the US/Western Europe/ Australia and New Zealand can still apply but the possibility of funding will depend on available resources and volume of applications.
Eclipse Fund The Eclipse Fund focuses on supporting innovative and experimental approaches to monitor and counter the actions of opposition actors, mitigate their impacts, and defend progress. Eclipse grants are awarded to organizations directly addressing anti-gender actors by countering disinformation, investigative research, public campaigning, legal support, digital rights, tech approaches, harm mitigation efforts, and other strategies. Eclipse grants are provided to groups operating in contexts where anti-gender backlash is anticipated, as well as in situations experiencing rapid and unexpected shifts. The Eclipse Fund aims to deepen collective understanding of anti-gender movements while resourcing organizations' preparedness, protection, and response efforts. Eclipse’s Fund: Who can apply? ● Organizations, groups, networks, and individuals are directly addressing anti-gender and de-democratizing actors through different approaches including but not limited to countering disinformation, investigative research, public campaigning, litigation, legal support, tech approaches, and other strategies ● Organizations using innovative and diverse tools and strategies to prepare, defend and respond to anti-gender actors and the closing of digital and physical organizing space for gender justice (legal defense, tech and digital rights etc). ● Initiatives that create and deploy impactful strategies of knowledge-building, dissemination, and advocacy responding to anti-gender and de-democratizing movements. ● Proposals that inform and activate key audiences to prepare and counter anti-gender and de-democratizing actors to advance gender justice. ● Priority will be given to initiatives based in Global South and East 2 countries, those led by historically oppressed groups, and those currently most under threat by anti-gender actors ● Nebula Fund does not provide financial support to other donor institutions or organizations implementing sub-granting initiatives 2 Nebula Fund will prioritize funding in the following regions: West, East, Central and Southern Africa; North Africa and Southwest Asia; Latin America and the Caribbean, South; South East, East Asia and the Pacific; Central, Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central and North Asia.
