Reminder: If you are confident about your edits and the platform flagged you wrong, make sure to submit a refutal through their Refutal Website and save the submission ID and check it from time to time. Refutals saved me so many times! PLEASE SEND REFUTALS FOR ALL YOUR FAILED FILES AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BEFORE 1 PM THE NEXT DAY. YOU NEVER KNOW, IT MIGHT TURN OUT TO BE A PASSING FILE. BETTER TO TRY! Also, please follow guidelines when submitting refutals, read everything carefully. Reminder: Assign cohort before starting your paid trial (follow guide on the RemoatTeams: Paid Trial discord server) Most of these are already explained in the style guide. I’m just sharing my opinion based on what I encounter a lot after working on many files. These are the things you should always pay extra attention to when going through files. TIPS: - Before starting, beside the summary there will be a list of speakers. One by one, check if it is in correct spelling (confirming through Linkedin, official company websites, etc.). If there is an incorrect spelling, change it immediately so you won’t forget. - Do not refer to the summary provided on the platform when checking for company names, styling, terms etc. - If you’re unsure about a word being spoken, try searching for a reliable transcript online. Most of the time, they provide accurate transcriptions, if not, something close to the accurate word. - Try to change speaker tags while listening to audio to save time. After you finish editing from start to end, scan the transcript again to make sure you put the right speaker tags. (This works really well for me, but you do what works for you, it’s just a suggestion) While listening to the audio, I always pay extra attention to the following immediately: ● Company names, company terms, places, or countries → Always research to confirm the correct spelling, styling, and official term. ○ Example ■ Transcript: Evantage (company term) Correct: EVantage ■ Transcript: Loushina (place) Correct: Louisiana ■ Transcript: Toys R Us (company name) Correct: Toys”R”Us
● Numerical figures → Always make sure the numbers are accurate. Always make sure there is a proper symbol/currency code. ○ Example: ■ Transcript: 2 billion Correct based on audio: $3 billion ● Most of the time, when company terms are mentioned repeatedly, the platform automatically writes the whole term. Only include what is actually mentioned in the audio. Remove added terms. ○ Example: ■ Audio: “This time, the Identity is now a leading provider of the company.” ■ Transcript: “This time, the Identity Solutions is now a leading provider of the company.” → Remove “Solutions” ● Most of the time, when names are mentioned repeatedly, the platform automatically writes the last name. Only include what is actually mentioned in the audio. Remove added last name. ○ Example: ■ Audio: “Robert will be explaining more details.” ■ Transcript: “Robert Anderson will be explaining more details.” → Remove “Anderson” ● Always double check the speaker tags, after you finish editing from start to finish. (a) Speaker tags should always follow the right format For speakers, First Last - Title For analyst, First Last - Company (b) If there are two or more paragraphs with the same speaker, make sure to ONLY PUT SPEAKER TAG ON THE FIRST PARAGRAPH ● The transcript of the audio from the Operator most of the time has incorrect spelling of the name when they introduce the next analyst. So make sure to always check it.
