At the end of the class, the students shall be able to – Identify Classify Differentiate between the Poisonous & Non Poisonous Snake.
Snakes Types of poisonous snakes: 1.Elapidae: Cobra ( Land snake with King-cobra round Tail ) Common Krait Banded Krait 2.Viperidae: Russell’s viper ( Broad head with Saw scaled viper short tail ) Pit viper 3. Hydrophidae: Sea snakes ( Sea snake with flat tails like fins ) There are more than 3500 species of snakes, but only 250 are venomous. In India only 5 are dangerously poisonous, common krait being most common.
