The third property states that a probability distribution computes the probability of any event represented by the variable. For example, when tossing a die, the probability to get any of the 6 dots is 1/6. Therefore, if x is the number of dots, then f x = 1 6 If the probability of getting 3 dots is required, then it can be computed from the function: f 3 = 1 6
