STANDARD AND MULTI-FAN CONTROL OPTIONS Standard Control Max Fans per Control Multi-Fan Control Option Max Fans per Control LARGE OVERHEAD FANS Powerfoil X4 Powerfoil D Standard Controller 1 BAFCon 8 • Run CAT5 cable from controller to first fan, then from first fan to second fan, second fan to third fan, etc. • It is recommended that the CAT5 cable is installed in conduit that is not shared with line voltage. • If using BAFCon’s SmartSense feature, one controller should be installed in each fan “zone” to enable automatic speed adjustment in response to local/zone temperature and humidity readings. • Each BAFCon controller can connect to a BACnet MSTP system to provide individual control of all products connected to the controller. BACnet Adapter 32 • The BACnet adapter connects fans to a BACnet automation system. One adapter enables individual control of up to 32 fans. • Compatible with BACnet MSTP and BACnet over IP Dewtect 32 • Dewtect is a condensation abatement system designed specifically to help prevent condensation on surfaces. Powerfoil 8 Basic 6 Standard Controller 1 BAFCon 8 • Run CAT5 cable from controller to first fan, then from first fan to second fan, second fan to third fan, etc. • It is recommended that the CAT5 cable is installed in conduit that is not shared with line voltage. • Optionally, the controller can be connected to the fans using Modbus cable. • 120 V power must be provided at the controller location to power BAFCon. BACnet Adapter 32 • The BACnet adapter is used to connect fans to a BACnet automation system. One adapter enables individual control of up to 32 fans. • Compatible with BACnet MSTP and BACnet over IP • The optional remote operator station is a fan control box with a speed potentiometer and a Manual/Auto switch that is connected to an individual fan in the system. • The remote operator station enables a local operator to override the master system to locally control ONLY the connected fan. • One remote operator station is required for each fan in the system for which local control is desired. • Remote operator stations are NOT required for fans in the system that do not need to be controlled locally. Dewtect 32 • Dewtect is a condensation abatement system designed specifically to help prevent condensation on surfaces. • The optional remote operator station is a fan control box with a speed potentiometer and a Manual/Auto switch that is connected to an individual fan in the system. • The remote operator station enables a local operator to override the master system to locally control ONLY the connected fan. • One remote operator station is required for each fan in the system for which local control is desired. • Remote operator stations are NOT required for fans in the system that do not need to be controlled locally. Essence Wired Wall Controller 1 to 10 BAFCon 8 • All fans will be controlled as a group. No individual control of each fan. • 120 V power must be provided at the controller location to power BAFCon. • Daisy chain fans using 18–16 AWG solid or stranded wire. BACnet Adapter with 0–10 V Module 32 • The BACnet adapter is used to connect fans to a BACnet automation system. One adapter enables individual control of up to 32 fans. • Compatible with BACnet MSTP and BACnet over IP • Up to 32 0–10 V modules can be connected to each BACnet adapter. • Use 16 AWG stranded wire. It is recommended that the wiring is installed in conduit that is not shared with line voltage. Wireless Wall Controller (Optional) Dewtect with 0–10 V Module 32 • Dewtect is a condensation abatement system designed specifically to help prevent condensation on surfaces. • Up to 32 0–10 V modules can be connected to each Dewtect controller. • Use 16 AWG stranded wire.
