Test 2 James: I went on a two-week sports course in London last month. We stayed at a big sports center near the city. Every morning, we got up at 6:30 for running practice. Then we had different sports classes all day - football, tennis, and swimming. The coaches were very friendly but strict about our training times. In the evening, we played games with other students or watched sports videos. We could use our phones only after dinner. The best part was when we visited the Olympic Stadium. We met some famous athletes there! It was hard work, but I made many good friends and learned a lot about sports. Sarah: I joined a cooking course in Paris for one week. We learned in a real restaurant kitchen with professional chefs. Every day was different - we made bread, cakes, and French dishes. Sometimes we made mistakes, but the teachers were very patient. At night, we tried the food we made and talked about cooking. We also went to the local market to buy fresh food. It was my first time cooking without my family, and I felt very proud when I cooked a full French meal by myself! When I came back to school, I had to catch up with many lessons and homework. It was very stressful. I worked hard to complete all my assignments, but I didn't do very well in my English test. I usually sail through my English exams, but this time I only just managed to scrape through. I felt very disappointed because I thought the teacher marked my work unfairly. My friends helped me by sharing their notes, and my English teacher gave me extra homework to improve. I stayed after school many days to study more. It was a hard time, but I learned an important lesson: I should always ask for help when I need it. Now I know how to manage better if I miss school again. I'll create 3 different tasks to test comprehension of this passage about a student's challenging school experience:
