Do not share or post the contents on the internet. The aim of this task is to identify files that have enough intelligible speech in them to be worth transcribing. If the majority of the audio file (i.e. more than 50%) contains speech that can be transcribed, listen to it again to check if it contains personal information (see UII below), if not, add the transcription label and move on. If the majority of the audio file (i.e. more than 50%) does not contain speech that can be transcribed, select one of the other labels. If you are not sure which one to use, choose the label that describes the majority of the clip. Make sure to listen to all of the speech in case there is UII that needs to be marked. Please use headphones when working on this task. This will ensure you can hear the audio clearly. Set your volume to a comfortable level (80%) so that it is not so loud that your ears hurt, but also not so quiet that you might not hear important sounds and speech.

The majority of the audio contains speech that can be transcribed. This includes people speaking, and also words coming from the television or radio. ⚠️Please use this even if the speech is in a noisy environment but you can still understand most of it clearly. ⚠️Note that if most of the speech is overlapping, even if you can hear what is said, do not use the transcription label. Overlapping speech cannot be transcribed. Please use the ‘noisy' label instead. Note: If the audio file contains speech in both Telugu and English language, it should be transcribed. Do not label it as foreign language. Use this label if the transcribable and un-transcribable duration is approximately the same.
