Test 3 Schools in the past were very different from today. Teachers were much stricter, and there were many more rules. Students had to call male teachers 'sir' and female teachers 'miss'. Everyone had to wear a school uniform, and they couldn't choose their clothes. When students broke the rules, they got into trouble. Teachers often made them stay behind after school and write essays as punishment. Some schools even had physical punishment for bad behavior. The learning style was also different. Students had fewer breaks during the day, and the atmosphere wasn't very relaxed. They couldn't talk during lessons, and they had to sit quietly all the time. Today, schools are more friendly places. Many schools don't require uniforms anymore, and students can dress how they want if they look smart. Teachers are less strict, and the atmosphere is more relaxed. Students can also join in discussions and share their ideas in class. I'll create 3 different tasks to test comprehension of this passage about schools past and present: Task 1: Multiple Choice 1. In the past, students had to call female teachers: a) Mrs b) Miss c) Madam d) Teacher 2. What was a common punishment in the past? a) Calling parents b) Writing essays after school
