Come to a standstill Rapid progress Make a dash Leisurely stroll Fast and significant advancement or improvement. Example: Technology has made rapid progress in the past decade. Swift action Quick and decisive action taken in response to something. Example: The firefighters took swift action to put out the blaze. Slow pace A gradual or unhurried rate of movement or progress. Example: The novel starts at a slow pace but becomes more engaging as the plot unfolds. To run or move quickly, usually for a short distance. Example: She made a dash for the train as it was about to depart. A relaxed and slow walk, often for pleasure. Example: We took a leisurely stroll along the beach, enjoying the sunset. To stop completely, with no movement. Example: Traffic came to a standstill due to an accident on the highway. Burst of energy A sudden and intense effort or activity. Example: He felt a burst of energy and completed the entire project in one sitting. Accelerate rapidly To increase speed quickly. Example: The plane accelerated rapidly as it took off from the runway. Gradual decline A slow and steady decrease in quality, strength, or importance. Example: The company faced a gradual decline in profits over the last five years.
