I reside in a modern apartment building in the bustling district of Hanoi. It’s a relatively new high-rise with about twenty- five floors, characterized by its sleek glass facade that reflects the city’s dynamic skyline. Each apartment is outfitted with contemporary amenities and designed to maximize comfort and efficiency, which is ideal for urban living. 2. What do you like the most about your home? The feature I appreciate most about my home is the expansive window in the living room that offers a stunning view of the Hanoi cityscape. This not only allows for an abundance of natural light, making the space feel bright and open, but also provides a picturesque backdrop, especially during sunrise and sunset. It’s a daily reminder of the vibrant life and culture that thrum just beyond my walls. 3. Are there many historical buildings in your city? Yes, Hanoi is rich with historical buildings that tell the tales of its centuries-old history. From the ancient architecture of the Old Quarter to the iconic Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, these buildings are integral to the city’s cultural fabric. They provide a beautiful contrast to the modern parts of the city, serving as popular attractions and important heritage sites. 4. Do you prefer modern or traditional architecture? Why? I personally prefer modern architecture, particularly because it often incorporates advanced technologies and sustainable practices that are vital for urban living. However, living in Hanoi has also given me a deep appreciation for traditional architecture, with its unique aesthetic and historical significance. The balance of old and new in Hanoi’s cityscape creates a fascinating architectural dialogue that I find quite enriching. 5. How are houses different in the countryside compared to those in the city in your country? In Vietnam, there is a pronounced difference between rural and urban housing. In the countryside around Hanoi, houses are usually low-rise and spread out, often surrounded by rice fields or lush greenery, which offers a peaceful and scenic environment. These homes typically have more land, allowing for gardens and livestock. In contrast, city housing in Hanoi is characterized by taller buildings and compact living spaces, designed to accommodate the dense population and fast-paced lifestyle of the city. ✓ modern apartment building, tòa nhà căn hộ hiện đại ✓ sleek glass facade, mặt tiền kính bóng bẩy ✓ contemporary amenities, tiện nghi hiện đại ✓ maximize comfort, tối đa hóa sự thoải mái ✓ expansive window, cửa sổ rộng lớn ✓ natural light, ánh sáng tự nhiên ✓ picturesque backdrop, phông nền đẹp như tranh ✓ historical buildings, các tòa nhà lịch sử ✓ centuries-old history, lịch sử hàng trăm năm ✓ cultural fabric, cấu trúc văn hóa ✓ popular attractions, điểm thu hút phổ biến ✓ important heritage sites, các di tích lịch sử quan trọng ✓ advanced technologies, công nghệ tiên tiến ✓ sustainable practices, thực hành bền vững ✓ historical significance, ý nghĩa lịch sử ✓ architectural dialogue, đối thoại kiến trúc ✓ rural and urban housing, nhà ở nông thôn và thành thị ✓ lush greenery, cảnh quan xanh tươi ✓ compact living spaces, không gian sống gọn gàng ✓ dense population, dân số đông đúc ✓ fast-paced lifestyle, lối sống nhanh
