Step 1. Single Response Rating Evaluate each response against the dimensions below. Image Understanding Image Understanding Image Understanding focuses on assessing whether the response demonstrates a proper understanding of the image. It specifically evaluates if the visual information (such as objects) in the image are correctly identified, and if the response reflects a sound comprehension of the visual details presented. Image understanding also includes spatial reasoning, such as the ability to accurately interpret the spatial relationships, size, and positioning of objects. Scale Description Major issue Failure to recognize key objects or information presented in the image. This could involve either completely overlooking these elements or confusing them with something else. While the response might seem reasonable on its own, when evaluated in relation to the input image, it reveals a significant misunderstanding of what the image depicts. Minor issue While the general comprehension of the image is reasonable, there are slight problems. These may include the failure to recognize one or few minor objects. Additionally, small inaccuracies in the object's size, shape or its location may occur, but these do not significantly impact the overall understanding of the image. No issue Clearly demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the image, with all essential information correctly identified and recognized.
