I am Jacob Mills and I am pleased to be here today to tell you all about my adventure in the desert wilderness of Wadi Rum in Jordan. This area is a large valley on the western side of the Arabian Desert, which is the largest desert area in Asia. My friends and I arrived by jeep at one of the desert camps early in the morning. At the camp, we checked into our large tents. We started our adventure with a trek in the desert. We learned about the history of Wadi Rum and its local tribes from our guide. After a lunch break, we went on a camel ride. We rode to some high rocks for some great views. In the evening, we ate around the campfire listening to traditional music. Our food was cooked on the ground, a traditional way of cooking in the desert. After dinner, we were listening to stories around the fire while we were drinking local tea. When we returned to our tents, and just when I thought this adventure couldn’t get any better, we opened the top of our tent and saw a night sky full of bright stars! I was so excited to sleep under the stars. It was an incredible connection with nature, something I will never forget. - Listen and complete the task. - Listen and check their answers. - Listen and take notes.
