Do I have to pay extra for the squash courts? A: No, you don’t, but you should phone up and book the day before. B: Oh, that’s OK. Well, she wasn’t careful at all ... she didn’t check if anything was coming so she didn’t see the car. (9) A: Go on. B: Well, the car braked immediately and swerved out of the way. But it headed towards the van, which didn’t have time to brake. A: I see. So, only the car braked ... B: That’s right. And that’s how the two vehicles collided.
