Consecutive interpretation (dịch đuổi/ dịch gián đoạn) is the process of listening to a speech or lecture in one language and at a certain moment, transcribing and summarizing it orally, in another language. The time lapse between the speech and your interpretation varies. e.g. When you are a tutor/ an assistant for a foreign teacher in a foreign center, you translate the oral feedback of the teacher for learners after he/she finishes his/her speech. 4. Simultaneous interpretation (dịch song song, dịch đồng thời, dịch cabin) involves the immediate, simultaneous interpretation of what is being said into another language. (no time at all, immediately you have to simultaneously render what is being said into another language, calling upon the ability to paraphrase). 5 codes 1. Accuracy and Completeness (Tính chính xác và hoàn thiện} Translators/Interpreters have to select the language that most accurately conveys the content and spirit of the client’s message. No alter, add or omit anything. 2. Confidentiality (Tính bảo mật) Translators/Interpreters have to respect the client’s right to privacy and confidentiality.
