OBJECTIVES: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to - understand new language through a conversation about doing household chores. - develop communication skills. - be collaborative and supportive in pair work and teamwork. - actively join in class activities. - be aware of responsibilities towards family. II. LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE: - Vocabulary: vocabulary to talk about household chores: household chores, breadwinner, homemaker, shop for groceries, do the heavy lifting, do the laundry, put out the rubbish, do the washing up. - Grammar: Simple Present and Present Continuous - Pronunciation: consonants blends /br/, /kr/, /tr/ III. INSTRUCTION RESOURCES: Grade 10 textbook, computers. IV. PROCEDURES: Teacher and students’ activities Contents Activity 1 ( 5mins) -T asks ss some questions: 1. Who often does the housework in your family? 2. Do you often share the housework? 3. If yes, what do you often do? -T invites some Ss to answer the questions. -T introduces the lesson: “We’ll listen and read a conversation about two people, Nam and Minh. They’re talking about sharing the housework or the household chores in their family. Activity 2 ( 6mins) -T asks students to read the conversation quickly. -T gets ss to listen and observe his actions. - T takes roles of 2 characters in the conversation, using real objects, pictures, and actions to help ss understand the conversation. - T repeated his actions once or twice.
