Data Privacy Notice In the processing of these data and information, Saint Benilde International School is committed to ensure the free flow of information as required under the Freedom of Information Act (Executive Order No. 2, s. 2016) and to protect and respect the confidentiality and privacy of these data and information as required under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). Background of the study: In the Philippines, graduating students face numerous emotional challenges as they prepare to complete their academic programs and transition into the next phase of their lives. The period leading up to graduation is often marked by heightened stress, anxiety, and uncertainty. These emotions are influenced by multiple factors, including the pressure to meet academic requirements, the fear of failing to graduate on time, the anticipation of entering the job market, and concerns about future employment prospects. In addition, cultural expectations and familial responsibilities can intensify these emotional burdens. As a result, the emotional health of graduating students becomes a critical area of concern that requires a comprehensive approach to address their needs effectively. The challenges and opportunities for supporting emotional health and promoting the well-being of international graduate students, there is an increasing awareness of the need for comprehensive support systems. According to Lee, J. J. (2021), the significant role that support networks play in addressing the mental health challenges faced by students, particularly those studying abroad. While the focus of Lee's research is on international students, its findings underscore a universal principle: that robust support systems are vital for the well-being of all students, especially those undergoing significant transitions. The research emphasizes the importance of creating inclusive support structures that cater to the diverse needs of students, regardless of their background, to foster a sense of belonging, reduce anxiety, and promote overall mental health. The focus of the objectives of this study is to investigate the role and effectiveness of various support networks in maintaining and enhancing the emotional health of graduating students. It aims to explore how different types of support—such as familial, peer, and institutional—contribute to a student's ability to cope with the stresses associated with graduation. Furthermore, the study seeks to identify the characteristics of effective support networks and understand how these networks can be strengthened to better support students. By examining the specific needs of graduating students and the types of support that are most beneficial, this research aims to provide insights into how educational institutions and other stakeholders can develop more targeted and effective support strategies. This research was conducted to determine the role of different support networks in enhancing the emotional health of graduating students in the Philippines. It seeks to identify key factors that make support networks effective, such as communication styles, frequency of contact, emotional availability, and the provision of practical assistance. Additionally, this study aims to propose strategies for strengthening these networks, addressing gaps where they exist, and recommending best practices that institutions, families, and communities can adopt to ensure better mental health outcomes for graduating students. By highlighting the critical role of support networks, this research contributes to the broader understanding of mental health dynamics among students, providing a foundation for future policy and program development aimed at improving student well-being.
