The New York City Department of Education COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATION IN ITALIAN SAMPLE TEST This Test Booklet contains Parts 2 through 4 (76 credits) of this examination. Your performance on Part 1, Speaking (24 credits), has been evaluated prior to the date of this written examination. For Parts 2 and 3, use a #2 pencil to fill in your responses on your Answer Document. For Parts 4A and 4B, use only black or blue ink to record your responses in your Part 4 Response Booklet. Be sure to fill in the information on the front of your Part 4 Response Booklet. When you have completed the examination, make sure you have signed the statement printed on the Answer Document and on the front page of the Part 4 Response Booklet, indicating that you had no unlawful knowledge of the questions or answers prior to the examination and that you have neither given nor received assistance in answering any of the questions during the examination. Your Answer Document and Part 4 Response Booklet cannot be accepted if you fail to sign these statements. The use of any communication device is strictly prohibited when taking this examination. If you use any communication device, no matter how briefly, your examination will be invalidated and no score will be calculated for you. DO NOT OPEN THIS EXAMINATION BOOKLET UNTIL THE SIGNAL IS GIVEN.
SAMPLE TEST -2- Part 2 Answer all questions in Part 2 according to the directions for A and B. A. Directions (1–8): For each question or incomplete statement, you will hear some background information in English once. Then you will hear a passage in Italian twice and a question or incomplete statement in English once. After you have heard the question or incomplete statement, the teacher will pause while you read it and the four answer options in your Test Booklet. Choose the best option and record your response on your Answer Document. Base your answer on the content of the passage only. 1. What does your friend want you to do?
