Project Guidelines
1. Purpose of this document Thank you for joining our Pickleball Collection! This document contains the instructions and quality acceptance criteria you must follow to collect and submit your spatial videos. Please read them carefully before you begin and reference them as you complete the work. 2. Project details Purpose This project aims to collect spatial videos from commonly found outdoor objects to improve technology products and services, including video recognition services. Language/ country Videos must be taken of static objects located outdoors (ideal locations are parks) in your country. Volume To start, you will be assigned a sample delivery of 5 videos in total. Once your sample submission is approved and you are fully onboarded, you can claim jobs until your country target is reached. Tool You will be using the TransPerfect DataForce Contribute (DFC) mobile application to complete the project work. Collection Equipment Spatial video recording is available on iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max models with iOS 17.2 or later. 3. Project instructions Before collecting your spatial (3D) videos, you will need to check some camera settings on your phone. Once you have completed this, you can move on to the step-by-step guide through the jobs. Note: if you skip this first step, your videos may be automatically rejected by our system. 3.1Setting up your phone camera for recordings 1. Open Camera on your iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max. 2. Swipe left or right on the camera screen to choose ‘Video’ mode, then rotate your iPhone to landscape orientation (see Figure on the right) 3. Tap , then tap the Record button or press either volume button to start recording (see section 3.2 on a step-by-step guide on how to record your videos). 4. Tap the Record button or press either volume button to stop recording. 3.2 Protocol for recording videos Once you’ve set up your camera, you can start recording and uploading the spatial videos. Follow the steps below and ensure you pay close attention to the quality check steps. 1. Go outdoors during the day, the ideal location for the collection is city parks. Videos recorded indoors or at dark are unacceptable. 2. Select an outdoor object (indoor objects are excluded) and ensure proper camera setup: 2
a. Select a static and rigid outdoor object to record your video. Here is a list of preferred objects: - Sculpture - Statue - Table - Bench - Playground - Toy - (Drinking) Water Fountain - Other IMPORTANT: - Other types of outdoor objects are allowed as long as they’re static-fixed to the ground (e.g., a parking meter, fire hydrant, etc.) but keep them to a minimum in your submission. - Do not record multiple videos of the same object as they are not acceptable. b. Videos capturing the below objects/places/PII will be rejected: - Moving objects. - Objects that can bend/move from external forces -like wind-. - Government buildings, facilities, or installations or other areas that government authorities have indicated are illegal or impermissible to video record. - Cars/Motorcycles. - People or anything that contains personal, confidential, or embarrassing information. Example: image of persons, car licence plates, residential addresses. c. You should record the videos during the day, you should ensure good visibility of the object (nominal light, no videos shot in the dark). d. You should use the default camera app on your iPhone. Use the steps in section 3.1 to activate the Spatial capture mode – Landscape mode only (enforced by spatial capture). Unacceptable objects Example: Flags, Leaves (trees), flowers. Reason: Can bend/move 3. Record 10-20 seconds of spatial videos with the following content: a. Object distance of 60 (minimum) – 120 cm (maximum) to ensure the entire object is visible. NOTE: It is OK if the entire object is not visible some/all of the time. b. ‘Object scan like’ capture. This means that you should move with your camera smoothly (not too fast) around the object to cover the object from all angles. The video needs to be a 360 view of the object. c. Good separation between the object and the background – for depth/perception effect. Note that viewing direction Unacceptable distance: Reason: Too far (‘Object scan like’ capture is not 3
matters – low objects have better separation when shot from close to the ground. d. Avoid flat objects with little contrast to the background (e.g. graffiti on walls) NOTE: As separation between the object and the background is important, you should avoid objects that are attached to a wall or a fence. e. Occasionally moving background objects (not people/infants or other PII), shadows, and shades are acceptable. NOTE: Videos containing PII (e.g., a person's face or body, car license plate, a residence address, etc.) are unacceptable. If you are recording a video and a person happens to cross in the foreground or background, you should discard that video and record a new one. possible at such a distance). 4. Please revise the below examples of acceptable/unacceptable videos and the potential rejection reason: Quality Criteria Link to Video Status Explanation Static or Rigid objects Unaccep...
