TYPES OF CULTURE: Culture can be broadly categorized into four main types. ❖Material Culture: Material culture refers to the physical objects and artifacts that a society produces, uses, and values. These can include tools, technology, buildings, clothing, art, and any other tangible items created by a group of people. Material culture provides insight into the way of life, beliefs, and customs of a particular society. ❖Non-Material Culture: Non-material culture, on the other hand, comprises the intangible aspects of a culture. This includes beliefs, values, norms, language, symbols, rituals, and customs that are shared and passed down from one generation to another. Non-material culture shapes individuals' behavior, thoughts, and social interactions. ❖ Subculture: A subculture is a smaller group within a larger society that shares distinct beliefs, values, behaviors, or interests that set them apart from the mainstream culture. Subcultures often emerge based on factors such as age, ethnicity, religion, occupation, hobbies, or lifestyle choices. They coexist alongside the dominant culture but maintain their unique identity. ❖Counterculture:
