IELTS THẢO LINH Nguyễn Thảo Linh - 0962917858 https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61571747612420 TOPIC 1: Describe a place in a village that you visited You should say: Where it is When you visited this place What you did there And how you feel about this place So, upon hearing this question, I immediately think about my visit to my grandparents’ hometown, which is located in a suburban area in the North of Vietnam. So if I’m not mistaken, this took place when I was a freshman in university, on New Year’s Day to be more specific. Actually, my family had a tradition of returning to our hometown to celebrate the holiday in a traditional manner with our relatives. That year, I was given a month off from school, and my parents decided to take me back to my grandparents’ hometown. Before the visit, I was really excited because I was about to spend nearly a month in a village that is gonna be completely different from my life in the city. What you did there So, during my stay, I felt tremendously grateful to be able to immerse myself in the tranquility of the local scenery and I was able to partake in a variety of activities. For instance, I had the chance to walk into expansive fields and see rice plants for the first time, which gave me some valuable insights into how farmers grow and harvest rice in order to provide food for my country’s citizens. What’s more, I also witnessed a range of animals in the fields such as buffalos and cows and how they assist people in farming, which helped me gain a deeper understanding of agriculture life. How you feel about this place For me, my visit to this village was just like a quick get-away from all the hustle and bustle of the city life. I mean, the atmosphere here is incredibly tranquil, with no vehicle

Part 3: 2. What do people usually do when they visit a village? Well, but based on my observation, people can partake in a range of activities. So for one thing, they can spend time walking into paddy fields and learning about how farmers grow and harvest rice in order to produce food for the citizens of a whole nation. For another, they can simply do nothing, just disconnect, let off some steam and forget about all the stress they’ve accumulated so far. 3. Why do people want to go to the countryside? I think this can be attributed to a host of reasons. So for one thing, maybe they want to meet their relatives on some special occasions. For example, in VN, we have a tradition of coming back to our maternal homeland, which is often located in the countryside, to celebrate Lunar new year in a traditional manner with our relatives. For another, I think some people just want to escape from their daily grinds, so going to the countryside is definitely the best option as this place is often really tranquil, with little construction noise and vehicle horns. 4. Is there anything special about the villages in Vietnam? Actually, I’m just not really sure about this as I haven't got the opportunity to visit villages in other parts of the world. But based on what I know, what really sets villages in Vietnam apart is friendly inhabitants. I mean, if you visit villages in VN, you will definitely be greeted with smiles and they often invite you to have lunch or dinner with them. Also, during meals, people often spend time eating together and catch up on each other’s days, no matter how busy they are.
