They also help society by empowering people and promoting change at the “roots” by disseminating education to the general population and making them aware of their rights. ● Third, in some cases, NGOs act as spokespeople for the poor and try to influence government policies and programs on their behalf. This can be done through a variety of means, from advocacy and pilot projects to participating in public forums and formulating government policies and plans.
